Risk Calculator

Size the position from the risk—not the other way around.

Define account risk and stop distance first. PairPilotFX then calculates the corresponding position size using explicit instrument and currency-conversion assumptions.

Define the risk

Position size at defined risk

Values stay in this browser. PairPilotFX analytics do not receive balances, risk amounts, prices, stops, conversion rates, or calculated size.

Transparent assumptions

Know what the calculator is doing.

  • Spot FX uses 100,000 base-currency units per standard lot.
  • JPY pairs use a 0.01 pip; other supported FX pairs use 0.0001.
  • If the account currency matches the FX base currency, conversion is derived at the stop price.
  • If account currency is neither base nor quote, you provide the quote → account conversion rate.
  • XAU/USD uses a 100 troy-ounce standard-lot assumption. Verify your broker's specification before relying on the result.

PairPilot workflow

Risk comes after preparation.

Use the Trading Checklist to define Context, Strength, Structure, Liquidity, Confirmation, and invalidation before sizing a position.

Risk note

This tool is educational arithmetic, not individualized investment advice or a trade recommendation. Broker contract sizes, execution, spreads, commissions, currency conversion, and margin rules can differ. Verify the relevant broker specification before execution.
